When thinking of the most esteemed university in the UK, Oxford University certainly springs to mind. As the oldest university in the English-speaking world, Oxford is a unique and historic institution and the university’s parks needed a cleaning solution to match the standards.
How Hako’s cleaning machines helped University Parks
We spoke to Daniel Winter – Technical Officer, University Parks for some background into the University Parks. “We are a constantly expanding university department providing ground care, gardening and arboriculture services to internal and external customers. We look after a range of sites to include historic and state of the art areas totalling over 200 different sites. With the universities continual provision of new modern buildings and world leading facilities, the demand on the department continues to grow, both in terms of providing landscaping and grounds maintenance”
We asked Daniel what problems he faced prior to having Hako equipment; “As a department we identified a need to regularly clean the hard surface infrastructure of the university. As a grounds care provider we had limited resources and equipment to carry this out to the required standard and frequency”. How do you feel having a Hako machine has helped your business? Has it resolved any problems faced prior to having the machine? “It has helped expand the range of services we can offer our customers and helped with enhancing the appearance and care standards of our current sites. It’s also a highly visible service both in terms of the machine operating and the end result”
And finally the question we really wanted to know, why choose Hako? “We were very impressed with the service we got from the sales team. We had a site visit to view the areas requiring cleaning and were invited to the Hako workshop for a full demo, we also had an onsite demo with various members of the team. We were particularly impressed with the machine demonstrator who showed us all aspects of the machine in a very practical way- the aftersales team and service staff seem very helpful and on-site training has been well received”
