The International Centre for Life is a science village in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. It incorporates Life Science Centre, which is an award-winning visitor attraction and educational facility; research facilities housing young and established biotechnology companies and an internationally-renowned institute belonging to Newcastle University; and two National Health Service (NHS) clinics delivering cutting-edge fertility and regenerative medicine therapies.
Although the science centre is the public face of Life, the on-site research and clinical work is of equal importance. The Centre for life, is more complex than people think, it’s not just a visitor attraction.
Allan Gardener, is Facilities Manager at Centre for life, and has been for 12 years. “I started manning the car park when I first joined the team and when people realised my skills with facilities I got moved into the facilities team, after that, became manager.”
“We are on our fourth generation machine, and we no longer use the machine for just litter picking. We had brought the winter pack this time, with the snow brush and the gritter, to ensure, in short, if the weather takes a turn for the worst, we’re prepared for it. It will make a huge different to this site”
How was the sales process?
“Very good. We sat down with Dan to look at the finance options available from Hako. In the end we decided to purchase the Citymaster 600 outright”.
How do you find the aftersales?
“Our engineer Shaun has been out to us a few times over the years, we have a good rapport with him as he’s on the ball. If I have any questions Dan’s always just a call away and he usually has the answers.”
“Susan our Coordinator has looked after us really well, whenever we are due a service or require parts, it’s always booked in and confirmed without an issue”
Would you recommend Hako?
” The machine and the service, I cannot fault! I would highly recommend Hako. Both the team and I are happy we went with Hako. It’s definitely the right machine for site”.
